Step into the world of handmade rugs, and you'll find yourself immersed in a world where every texture and fiber tells a story. Handmade rugs are crafted by artists with precision, passion, and a profound appreciation for tradition.

Perhaps one of the most captivating aspects of handmade rugs lies not in their intricate designs or vibrant colors, but in the variety of textures possible.

Each texture has its own unique character, offering a different look and style for your room.

    Rug Texture 1: Loop Pile

Loop pile rugs by created by constructing yarn into loops that are left uncut on the surface of the rug. This creates a textured appearance with loops of yarn that can vary in height and thickness, depending on the style and design of the rug. Loop pile rugs are known for their durability and resistance to crushing, making them suitable for high-traffic areas in the home.

Cut pile rugs are characterized by their construction where the fibers are evenly cut to create a soft and smooth surface. Cut pile rugs offer a plush and velvety texture that is comfortable underfoot and visually appealing.

    Rug Texture 4: Shag Pile

Imagine sinking your toes into a luxuriously soft rug after a long day. Plush and shaggy rugs are renowned for their thick, dense piles that create a cushiony feel underfoot. Our rugs use organic cotton or organic wool to achieve their fluffy texture. They are perfect for spaces where comfort and warmth are a priority, such as bedrooms or cozy living rooms. Plush rugs not only feel great but also add a touch of opulence and warmth to any room.

    Rug Texture 6: Flatweave

Flatweave rugs, also known as kilims and dhurries, are woven on a loom rather than knotted, resulting in a flat surface without pile. This texture gives them a sleek and low-profile appearance, making them ideal for high-traffic areas like hallways, kitchens, or dining rooms. Our flatweave rugs are made from organic cotton or organic wool, making them super durable.

A flatweave with shag pile rug texture is a distinctive hybrid that combines the flat, woven appearance of flatweave rugs with the luxurious, shaggy feel of longer pile fibers. This type of rug texture merges the practicality of flatweave construction with the softness and visual interest of shag pile, creating a unique and versatile rug option.

    Knotted Loop with Cut Pile

A loop with shag pile rug texture is a unique combination that blends characteristics of both loop pile and shag pile constructions. This type of rug texture features loops of yarn that are interspersed with longer, shaggy strands, creating a varied and textured surface that offers both visual interest and a plush feel underfoot. The high/low texture adds dimension to the rug.

    Rug Texture 9:

    Knotted High/Low Cut Pile

High-low cut pile rugs are characterized by their construction where different parts of the rug pile are cut at varying heights. This creates a textured surface with areas that appear higher (high pile) and lower (low pile) than others, resulting in a sculpted effect. This technique allows for the creation of intricate patterns, designs, and visual depth that enhance the rug's aesthetic appeal.

    Rug Texture 10:

    Boucle Flatweave

Bouclé texture refers to a distinctive type of surface texture characterized by looped fibers that are woven into the rug. The term "bouclé" originates from the French word for "buckled" or "curled," which aptly describes the appearance of the loops in this type of texture.

Bouclé rugs are crafted using loops of yarn that are intentionally left uncut, creating a continuous looped surface across the rug. These loops vary in size and tightness, influencing the overall look and feel of the rug.

    Choosing the Right Texture:

When selecting a rug for your home, consider not only the visual appeal but also the practical aspects such as maintenance and durability.

The texture of the rug plays a crucial role in how it will feel and perform in your space.

Whether you prefer the luxurious comfort of shag rugs, the natural charm of flatweave rugs, or the contemporary allure of textured designs, there's a rug texture to suit every taste and style. By understanding the characteristics of different rug textures, you can make an informed choice.
